AstroQuest is an astronomy-themed property game for one to four players. The Game Master keeps track of movement, credits, property ownership, rent, questions, bonuses and repairs.
Select one to four players, enter their names and press START GAME. Every player begins at LAUNCH with 1,200 credits.
The Game Master announces whose turn it is. Use one of the six Roll buttons to enter the player's die roll. Players move clockwise around the 36-space board.
A player receives 150 credits whenever normal movement crosses or lands on LAUNCH. A player sent directly to the Repair Bay does not pass LAUNCH and receives no 150-credit award.
If a player lands on an unowned astronomy property, the Game Master asks whether the player wants to buy it. The number shown on the property is both its purchase price and its rent. An asterisk (*) beneath the number indicates that the property is owned. The Players table identifies the owner.
If a player lands on another player's property, the listed rent is transferred to the owner. Landing on your own property costs nothing.
Landing on an orange ? square displays a multiple-choice astronomy question. A correct answer moves the player directly to LAUNCH and awards 150 credits. An incorrect answer leaves the player on the ? square with no credit award.
Landing on a green CR square awards a random bonus from 100 to 500 credits.
Landing on square 19 or SYSTEM FAILURE puts the player in the Repair Bay on square 19. When that player's next turn begins, the Game Master asks whether to PAY 200 CREDITS & LAUNCH or LOSE THIS TURN. Paying 200 credits completes the repair and enables the die buttons for that turn. Losing the turn costs nothing, but the player remains in the Repair Bay.
If a player's credit balance falls below zero, that player is immediately out of the game. The player's token is removed, turns skip that player and all properties owned by that player become unowned. A balance of exactly zero is allowed. When only one player remains, that player wins.
