I love music! Music has always been a big part of my life. My Mom encouraged me to learn to play the guitar, which I will cover in another page. I started going to live concerts when I was a HS senior and could afford the tickets (which were cheap) and the ride. My first concerts were at the Syria Mosque, near Pitts campus. I saw Yes and Allman Brothers there. (not same concert)

Among the bands I have seen that are not listed here because I have no pix.

Led Zepplin, Deep purple, Molly Hatchett, moody blues, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Trans-siberian orchestra, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Poco, Frank Zappa, Eric Clapton, BB King, Tedeschi-Trucks Band, Jon Luc Ponty, Kansas, King Crimson, Dylan, Styx, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Steppenwolf, Mamas and Papas (later group), Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen, and others.

No pix from this concert but this was when I saw King Crimson at Penn State for $4!!!! Actually met Fripp the next morning in the (then) Holiday Inn cafeteria.

Suzi and I saw Beach Boys. Sorry that Brian was not with them.

They made a point of playing 409!!!

Think of Paterno's 409 wins. The crowd roared!!!

So I win an academic award for developing online technical MS programs. They fly me to Atlanta and when the taxi drops me off at the hotel, across the street, at the Fox Theater, is a 40th anniversary concert for Lynnard Skynnard. I called Suzi to tell her of this coincidence and she told me to get My butt over there!

So I did. Tickets were about $400 but fairly close and center. Meanwhile I am on canes and they put me in a better seat because of that. The concert had the remaining Skynnard members, plus Frampton, Charlie Daniels, and a few others. They ended the concert with a rousing Free Bird.

So there I am, an old, long-beard on canes, wearing an army hat and surrounded by over 5000 very raucous Sothern Folk! One of them tried talking to me just long enough to find out i had died on a Harley. Suddenly they kept buying me jack and coke and would not allow me to return the favor.

Seriously, I am lucky I made it back across the street to The hotel!

Billy Joel. I always liked his music. Suzi and I got pretty good seats.

Billy Joel

The Rolling Stones at PNC Park

I promised Suzi I would not smoke anything, and guess what? A 90-year-old man kept trying to pass a joint to us. we politely declined.

Beatiful evening and view of the city.

Then Sir Paul

Suzi and I were both enthused about seeing a Beatle!

He gave a great concert!

Many visuals

Sir Paul

Pete townsend of the Who. Suzi says this was One of her favorite concerts ever. It was pretty good although they had to use a different drummer.

We saw the Wo at the new civic area in Pittsburgh.

Brit Floyd in Altoona

I have seen Yes many times. They are my favorite progressive band. Suzi found this concert in Hershey. It was just after Yes broke into two bands.

As I expected, the concert was fantastic!

They played songs from Drama and Tales.

David Crosby at the State Theater

David Crosby

The other compnent of Yes - Anderson Rabin and Wakeman. Very expensive but worth it!

We treated Bobby and Sandy Monteverde! Two of our closest friends

also a great concert!

We saw Justin Hayward at the state. We were front row center, and I was looking straight up at him. He gave me a pick after the concert!

We saw Chicago!

Suzi really loved Eltom John! Leon Russel also appeared!

Suzi got up and danced in her seat! Love her!!!!

Cone of Silence. They played Yes, Floyd and Genesis. Bands others could only aspire to.

They often played at Cafe 210.

The Earthtones always closed out the Arts Fest on Sunday.

They played on old Main lawn.

Regge was the perfect music to end the arts fest!
